As part of the recent changes to FBReview, This is the first review (in a series of 7) which I will write each day in the next week that focus more on developer tools and various other Facebook-related resources. As anyone who has a page on facebook (ours is Facebook.com/FBReview) knows that the hardest thing is to get Fans to add to your page. Many Facebook developers create pages for their apps as a means to promote the app. The main problem is that its difficult for people to find pages they like without going through the very unfriendly Facebook Page Directory or random search results. This is where Looking4Pages comes in. It displays a wide array of different pages based on user submissions and not popularity like in the Facebook page directory. This is what makes this site so cool. You will find so many pages that you normally would never find in the directory. What’s also great about this site is the way that pages are displayed. The site displays pages in a grid format with each page taking up a spot in the grid, you can almost see a ‘preview’ of the page with the users who like it, page title, logo image and a built in like button so that you can instantly add the page to your likes. Overall the site is very intuative and once it gets more pages indexed it could be a fun alternative to the really ugly page directory from Facebook. Frankly, this is a really cool concept and Facebook should take a ‘page’ out of Looking4Pages’ book (no pun intended). So if you are trying to promote your page, or just want to have it listed in a really clever page directory then check out Looking4Pages and submit your page, not only will your page get more exposure it will also help build a more dynamic user-powered facebook page directory. The best part is that it’s free and anyone with a Facebook page can submit theirs to be listed. So what are you waiting for? Get your page listed!

It appears that sharing page content is quickly becoming centered around the new Stream (for more information on the stream see the previous post about the new Facebook layout). Facebook has also rolled out a new way for people to share pages with friends. You can now “suggest” links to your friends much in the same way you would invite friends to an application. Here is what the invite friends feature looks like on our page.

This should help administrators encourage page users to share the page with their friends. While applications are usually limited to around 10-20 invitations per user per day, there are no restrictions on page invitations. This opens the door to quite of unwelcomed spam like invitations, which will hurt the application developers. I am concerned that sooner or later Facebook is going to have to restrict this feature otherwise users will be inundated with invitations.
