Many people in the industry thought that the new Facebook Places feature will kill FourSquare. Far from it, usage has actually increased since Facebook rolled out Places.

I am personally addicted to Foursquare and am even the Mayor of my local pub (not sure that’s a good thing). But I always wanted to show off my badges on Facebook and my personal blog, unfortunately this option is rather limited with Foursquare. My Foursquare makes it easy to show your Foursquare badges, mayorships, and checkins on Facebook, your blog or your website. It’s free! You can push messages about your Foursquare checkins and mayorships to Facebook and Twitter as you achieve them, but there is no way to easily display all of your checkins, badges or mayorships across the web. A new app called My Foursquare makes it easy to display your Foursquare information on your Facebook profile, your blog, or your website.

You can display your badges, mayorships, last checkin, and last checkin on a Google map. The Facebook app shows up as a tab on your profile; the WordPress plugin shows up as a widget on your sidebar; and the javascript embed of code lets you show your stuff wherever you like on any website. My Foursquare has several customization options that make it easy to display your Foursquare stuff how you like. You can choose which elements you want to show (e.g. show just your badges, or show just your last checkin), and design customization options include variable widget widths, borders, colors and fonts.

The apps use Oauth authentication (which has become the new security standard) to connect with the Foursquare API, so that your personal Foursquare login credentials are safe and secure – they are never seen by My Foursquare.

Galamon is a brand new battle-based Facebook game from Morphee Interactive. The objective of the game is rather simple; you are the leader of a team of Galamon’s (which are futuristic space creatures) and you clash against other Galamon teams across the universe. The game itself is tour-de-force of interactive graphics with some of the most incredible looking gameplay I have seen on Facebook games in recent times. The game comes in solo or multiplayer mode so you can easily challenge your friends.

The actual game includes a wide array of functionality and actions a player can perform. For example, you can build custom training rooms for your Galamons on your spaceship to make them more effective in beating your opponents. Each Galamon has a rating which shows how powerful they are – there are over 60 different types of Galamons. Each Galamon also has a special ability based on elements (ie. earth, wind, fire, water and poison) which can be used to help during battles. For example, a Galamon’s special ability might be able to increase the attack speed of other Galamons on your team.

When you engage in a fight with other Galamon teams, the battle sequences are automated, so all you can really do is hope that you have prepared your team adequately enough to beat the other player. If you win the battle you earn money which you can then use to buy things such as equipment and new items which you can use to make your Galamons more powerful and experience points which you’ll need get to higher levels. By winning battles you can also get new Galamons (which you receive as eggs). You’ll need to place these eggs in your incubator and check on them every few days until they hatch. There are also golden eggs which hatch into Gold Galamons that are stronger and have unique abilities.

The social aspect of the game is fantastic as it lets you challenge your friends Galamon teams. You also unlock various achievements by beating other teams and the game features a leaderboard which keeps track of your scores versus other players. I especially liked the gifting feature and it would be really cool if it was possible to trade Galamon’s with other players (hopefully the developers will add this in future versions).

Overall this is one of the best games we have reviewed on FBReview recently; in fact we liked it so much we placed it on our featured review section. So if you haven’t started playing already, get started now and conquer the Galamon universe!

I am going to a break here from reviewing the traditional, complicated, mega games like Mafia Wars, or Farmville and review a great flash based game. The game is called The Flying Pig and the goal is…you guessed to fly a pig. Its similar to other ‘see-how-far’ you can go games, but what sets this one apart is, well – its really fun (and a bit addictive)! The Flying Pig is a cartoonish game which is simple to play. The goal is to get your pig to fly as far as possible without being stopped by any dangerous objects. The game itself is really well made and thought out, I especially like the ‘bean-boost’ which lets your little ham fly even further using some of their ‘gas’. The social integration aspect of the game is also well made, letting you brag about your high score to your friends (BTW, my high score was 1015). The game also lets you challenge friends and compare your score against everyone on facebook to see who’s the best. The one thing that could use a bit of improvement is the audio as it gets pretty repetitive after a while and I had to turn off my speakers after playing for 10 minutes. Overall this game is a lot of fun and is worth checking out for all you bacon lovers!

Calling all Pokemon or Digimon fans, there’s a new game you simply MUST check out. The game is called “Planet That Have Many Creatures” from Level Up Studios is a facebook game that lets you play as a owner of an entire planet in the games universe. Whats interesting with this game is the ecosystem the developers have built which is really thought out and well designed. I really like this genre of games and the character graphics are simply spectacular! Whats also interesting about this games is that it has one of the highest facebook user rating I have seen for a game – 4.9 out of 5 for almost 10k votes! This is just another testament to how great this game is.

When you start the game, your new planet has few creatures so you have to begin the journey through the universe to collect all of them and populate your home planet (There are more than 700 creatures!). Not only you must quest to collect these neat creatures but there are also many more interesting features.

• Fight – Players can fight their friends to gain more creatures.
• Evolve the creatures – Just like the Pokemon and Digimon, players can evolve their creatures to make them stronger.
• Hatch the egg – There are some rare creatures that player can only get by hatching the egg of another creature.
• Combination – Players can combine their creatures or stuffs to get the special creatures.
• Battle to occupy planet – Very unique PvP (player vs. player) system. Players have to fight the keeper of the planet, if they win they will get that planet as a slave planet.
• Global tournament – Fight thousands of players from all over the world and be the strongest planet in the universe.

Overall this is one of the more interesting games I played recently. If you like these types of games then this one is a champion, give it a shot and see for yourself.

FBReview is site for Facebook Game and Application reviews, but today I decided to deviate from the norm and offer a movie review. Granted the movie hasn’t come out yet (so i’ll just review the trailer) but I promise as soon as I see the movie I’ll write a full review right here. The movie I am talking about is called The Social Network and if you don’t know by now its about Facebook. More accurately its about how Facebook got started. It talks about the accusations of Mark Zuckerberg who supposedly stole the idea of Facebook from other students who hired him to build it. Needless to say the movie should be pretty interesting. I especially like the pick of Jesse Eisenberg (Zombieland, Superbad) as Mark Zuckerberg and Justin Timberlake as a high flying VC. The movie will be released in the US on October 1, 2010 and judging by the trailer its worth a watch, but you decide, here is a link to the official site and the trailer.

Watchout FarmVille there is a new Farm in the area. Farm Town from Slashkey is quickly gaining momentum and is taking a big bite out of Facebooks farm game user base. With over 5 million users its quickly gaining on Zynga’s Farmville (although still far from 60 million FarmVille users). The fact that FarmVille’s numbers are going is a testament to Farm Town’s success.

Farm Town essentially is has the same concept as FarmVille, its all about making your farm grow and becoming profitable. This is an indeed good game, and in my opinon an imporevment on FarmVille, IF you know what you are doing. Much like FarmVille this game is also monetized with virtual currency and There are many items that you can use to make your farm make more money but you will need to reach a certain skill level so that you can get them. Of course there are shortcuts and you can indeed dominate Farm Town using these secrets for example.

With regards, to the virtual currency, Farm Town has two types of coins, the yellow coins which are given after you pick some crops, sell some animal produce or other farm tasks. The green coins are more rare and only a few of them are given to you at the beginning of the game, from then on you will earn some of them after reaching certain levels or of course you may purchase them by ‘donating’ some real money to the creators of the game.

In Farm Town, you need to create your character, which is usually a fun part, because there are many ways for you to customize it. As you advance in Farm Town you will be able to place facilities in your farm, which will allow you to make better products and sell them for more yellow coins. These facilities make ice cream, chocolates and even pizzas. The more facilities that you own the better that you will be able to sell your produce and the more money that you will have to make your farm the best of all. One of the best advantages of Farm Town is that the creators are always changing and updating stuff, which makes it more interesting to play without even thinking about getting bored.

Overall I think its a more engaging game then FarmVille but thats for you to decide. What do you think?

The only game in Facebook that will let you have an out of this world fish aquarium is definitely FishVille. I reviewed some other fish-related games here before, but I this one really beats-em all. Your fishes in FishVille will live in a tank that you create for them and if your tank is not suitable for them, they will let you know (with some lame humor). The fishes in FarmVille will have colors that you never expected a fish to have, they will also be able to survive in a world that you fabricate, and of course you will have to buy items with your coins which is similar to all other Zynga games. Like in all other Zynga created games, FishVille has an interactive game mode, where you can interact with other players in the game.

The problem with all these virtual currency games is that it takes quite a bit of time to develop a quality score and rank higher. It even appears that there are some ways to cheat! So it’s very likely that top global scores you see on the game are not real.

With FishVille (and many other games), you can interact with your Facebook friends, by visiting their fishes and helping them with their chores. You can also send and receive some special gifts in this game and you can also make use of the FishVille dollars which will allow you to get even better items than the rest of the players. This in my opinion kind of hurts the game. Because someone who may spend days building their fishtank can be ranked lower then someone who simply buys lots of stuff!

One of the most popular games since Facebook was created is certainly FarmVille. According to AppData Farmville has close to 60 million active users (and this is down from a high of 75 million a few months back). This game is simply MASSIVE, people say its so addictive you’ll need rehab just to quit. Suprisingly enough FarmVille is a game, where you become the owner of your own farm and try to make it productive and of course compete against your friends about who has a better farm.

In FarmVille, you grow your own crops, keep your own farm animals, build your own farm buildings and even have other items that are not regularly found in real life farms, but that make FarmVille one of the most entertaining games on Facebook. However, what bothers me is that the sheer number of users (most of them my friends) causes my news stream to be spammed with in-game messages. Frankly, I don’t care if my friend saved a three legged goat by adopting it, and I simply began to filter out people who use the game.

This application has a lot of crops that one can choose to grow, from tomatoes, corn, blueberries to sunflowers and even watermelon. This game also allows you to have your own fruit trees, which will give fruit every couple of days so that you can pick them up and sell them for some money. You can raise many farm animals in FarmVille, like for example you can raise cows, pigs, chickens, sheep and horses, but you can also raise reindeer, cats, rabbits and ducks. There are many variables to this game and you can make your farm grow as you keep getting a higher level and making more money. What Zynga did with this game is pure genius, if you want a bigger farm and are too lazy to actually do it you can buy the virtual currency directly from them (in exchange for actual currency) and this is how Zynga basically monetizes the game. The more FarmVille money that you have, the more items that you will be able to buy and make your farm a lot better. Just the sheer number of users in this game Zynga is raking in millions, while you are raking your virtual leafs. Remind me to buy Zynga stock when they go IPO (no wonder Google just invested $100 Million in the company).

Overall I’d have to say Farmville is a good game (there are much better out there) but the overkill Zynga did with inter-user alerts really pissed me off so i’m going to deduct some points on that.
